Carrying Out the Tightness Test
How to test the installation for pressure tightness after completing the let-by stage.
The meter inlet valve is opened gradually to raise the pressure to 20β21 mbar. The valve is then turned off at the test position.
The pressure is allowed to stabilise for one minute. If necessary, adjust back to 20β21 mbar after stabilisation.
After stabilisation, observe the gauge for a further two minutes to identify any pressure loss that would indicate a leak.
Key points to remember
- β’ Test pressure must be between 20β21 mbar.
- β’ Stabilisation is one minute, then two minutes monitoring.
- β’ Pressure loss outside criteria indicates a leak.
